For Teachers

Students of all ages will learn about the Newfoundland and Labrador marine life rich habitat:

• BONES, BALEEN & BARNACLES Reserve this free curriculum-based presentation on habitat stewardship and the whales of Newfoundland and Labrador sponsored by the Whale Release and Stranding group.



• Read what other teachers have said about the Whale Release and Stranding group.



• Ask students to research the difference between baleen and toothed whale anatomy using whale words.



• Give extra credits for those students who give a 15-minute description of
Newfoundland & Labrador inshore fishing gear.


• Ask students to prepare presentations on protecting whales. Knowing about whales helps us to protect our marine ecosystems and benefits all fishing communities.
